Job Overview

The Chief Product Officer (CPO) will be responsible for defining and driving the overall product strategy, vision, and roadmap for Newage.  The role requires deep expertise in logistics technology, strong leadership, and the ability to align product development with business goals to drive revenue growth and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Strategy & Vision

• Define the long-term product strategy aligned with the Newage’s mission and market needs.
• Drive innovation in logistics technology, ensuring the product suite remains competitive.
• Develop a deep understanding of customer pain points and translate them into product solutions.

2. Product Development & Roadmap Execution

• Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation to launch.
• Define and prioritize the product roadmap based on business impact and market research.
• Ensure seamless integration of automation, and digital transformation in product offerings.

3. Cross-Functional Leadership

• Work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and operations to align product goals.
• Build and manage a high-performing product management team.
• Act as the bridge between customers, technology teams, product managers and business stakeholders.

4. Customer & Market Insights

• Stay updated on market trends, competitor strategies, and regulatory changes in logistics.
• Collaborate with clients and partners to incorporate their feedback into product development.

5. Go-to-Market & Business Impact

• Partner with sales and marketing teams to develop strong go-to-market strategies.
• Monitor key product performance metrics and ensure continuous optimization.
• Identify new revenue streams and expansion opportunities through product enhancements.

Key Qualifications & Experience

• 15+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in software product development for logistics, supply chain, or freight forwarding.
• Strong expertise in SaaS, cloud solutions, AI, and automation technologies for logistics.
• Deep understanding of logistics operations, freight management, and supply chain optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, product roadmaps, and UX/UI best practices.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with ERP, TMS (Transportation Management System), WMS (Warehouse Management System).
• Knowledge of blockchain, IoT, and AI-driven logistics solutions.
• Exposure to global logistics regulations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Team Management: Oversee and support a team of operations staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Supervise and mentor a team of operations staff, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
• Process Improvement: Continuously assess and refine operational processes to optimize efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
• Client Communication: Act as a liaison between the New Age and its freight forwarding clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure accurate and timely processing of freight forwarding tasks, such as documentation, customs clearance, and shipment tracking.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks in operations and develop strategies to mitigate them, such as implementing compliance measures to adhere to regulatory requirements.
• Technology Utilization: Leverage technology tools and software systems to streamline operations, enhance tracking and reporting capabilities, and improve overall service delivery.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge operational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement, providing regular reports to management.
• Problem Solving: Address operational challenges as they arise, employing critical thinking and resourcefulness to find solutions that meet both client and company objectives.

Skills Required:

• Experience:  A relevant minimum 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding operations, including shipping documentation, customs regulations, and international trade practices.
• Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, client requirements, and industry dynamics in a fast-paced environment.
